SALES SKILLS

 

​     Everything in life is SALES - either we are selling something, selling someone on doing something, or something is being sold to us. Even small children sell their adult counterparts on taking them somewhere, or buying them something. And, teenagers sell how good of a friend they can be to their peers. We also sell, or at some point have sold, ourselves to our companies/organizations by bringing the best resume to the hiring interview to land the desired position. So, we all know how to SELL - we are just always mindful of the motive and the rewards that comes with it, in different aspects!

The sales process with a professional who is trustworthy, honest, competent, and client-focused will always be a good experience. if we didn't have realtors, we would have to complete the entire home-buying process ourselves. Therefore, it is our duty to simply HELP PEOPLE GET WHAT THEY KNOW THEY ALREADY WANT AND NEED by connecting the information and opportunity with the processing skillset for them. 

Sales is good - but the salesperson who doesn't master their craft will leave a bad taste in someone's mouth. Let us be the best SALESPERSON - not to just to sell, but to educate and equip our clients so they can do what's right for themselves and their families!

MENTAL TOUGHNESS

Life and business are going to constantly TEST your desire, your resilience, and your willingness to keep going until the positive results become your daily reality!

If you aren't being TESTED, you aren't LIVING TO YOUR FULL CAPACITY. 

But, it's not about how or how long life and business TEST us - it's how we respond to the TESTING. If we respond well, we will have TESTIMONIES to share when we get to the end of the TESTS. 

The way we respond depends on how TOUGH we are mentally to keep PUSHING despite all the odds and challenging OBSTACLES! Only the winners PUSH THROUGH!

TOUGH TIMES DON'T LAST - ONLY TOUGH PEOPLE DO! 

WORK ETHIC and SELF-DISCIPLINE

If we want better for ourselves, we need to do MORE and become MORE daily to create a routine or discipline and then make it a healthy consistent HABIT, over time. 

It is also not just enough to do the work or to "work hard". Doing work could be you taking action but without focus, direction, and results, you won't get closer to your goals and dreams. That would simply be like rocking a chair back and forth: all movement but no progress. Similarly, when we "work hard" - it is all relative to who or what we are referencing as an example - 5 appointments scheduled compared to 0 may be considered hard work until you learn of the leader who makes $10,000/month after having scheduled 300 appointments. To the person making 0 and 5 appointments, 300 appointments may seem difficult to do - but to the person making 300 appointments, this is FUN because they see results for their good work ethic.

 

When we work with INTENSITY, with PASSION, and having a sense of JOY we dont feel as though we are being PUSHED or forced to do work. Instead, we are being PULLED to do work because it is fulfilling. Initially, it may be a PUSH to get started but as we see the great results and positive changes in our lives, we do MORE, get BETTER, and become attracted to the work. It won't feel like work anymore, but more like FUN!

Remember, how we do one thing, is how we do EVERYTHING! Let's DO IT BIG!

INTERPERSONAL (PEOPLE) SKILLS

BUSINESS = PEOPLE!!! We need people either as clients and/or partners! Therefore, in order to be successful in any business, we need to have and/or develop great people skills. 

The best way to master people skills is to always think: "how would I want for someone to treat me, talk to me, explain to me, or consider me, at this time and in this situation?" When we are able to put ourselves in the other person's shoes, we will not only operate from a place of understanding, compassion, and kindness, we will also get better responses from those with whom we do business. 

People do business with those the like and trust - Lets keep getting BETTER!

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE and SOCIAL SKILLS

We all are human beings dealing with human beings - all dealing with different things at the same time, with different emotions: BE KIND and OFFER GRACE!

If someone didnt answer a phone call, or show up for their scheduled appt with you - instead of thinking, texting, or calling to say: "YOU WASTED MY TIME!", think and respond with care and concern: "HI ____, I didn't gt through to you earlier. Is everythink OK? It is unlike you to not answer my calls or show-up to a meeting." 

People respond well and faster to POSITIVITY, KINDNESS, and GRACE - anything opposite of those, will cause the negatives that you don't want in your business. 

Also being AWARE of those around you, the situation you're in, the current environment (energy and agenda) while being in-tuned with SELF (i.e. having SELF AWARENESS), recognizing how you feel in a situation, environment, or with those around you is EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE! How we respond to all those elements and variables is SOCIAL SKILLS. We need to master both, to MAXIMIZE OUR GROWTH!

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Our communication can be verbal and non-verbal. It is important that we constantly work on improving both these areas for our next level growth!

 

For verbal communication, we have to be mindful of our tone, our verbiage (the words used), how much we are talking, and how positive we are keeping the conversation.  Good communication is one where we help to clarify as much as possible using as little words as possible, while using relateable words that can be understood, all  while speaking positively to someone or about a situation. 

 

For non-verbal communication, we have to be mindful of our body language and facial expressions, showcasing confidence and respect while listening or speaking, smiling and showing attentiveness. People like to know we dont just hear them, but understand them. Read the room - take the cues, and match the energies positively. 

 

We should also be mindful of how we text and email. Keep it brief, and ensure proper grammar and spelling - proofread before sending. Also be timely in our responses - No one wants to do business with someone who they can never get to because the phone is always on DND, or the VOICEMAIL BOX is always full, or it take too many hours and even days to respond to an email, text, or call. If you are not showing attentiveness while in the same physical or virtual space - you can lose a partner or client.  Don't allow poor communication skills to stop your BIG MOVE to your NEXT LEVEL!

TAKING INITIATIVE

In business, and as a leader taking ownership of your business, you will have to take initiative to learn what you need for your growth, your understanding, and your ultimate success! 

Your uplines, qualified trainers, and/or RVP are really there as support to provide the resources, their experience (confidence and competence), their winning example, and a winning environment so you can fish for yourself and learn how to develop your business. While they provide a lot, they're unable to show you everything - no one knows everything all the time, so YOU CAN'T EVER STOP LEARNING!  IT IS A PROCESS! TAKE THE TIME TO INVEST IN YOUR COMPETENCE AND CONFIDENCE!

It really is on YOU to get YOU where YOU want to be - take the time to review and re-review the resoures on the HUMBLLE website, POL, the daily company/team trainings. NO ONE CAN LEARN FOR YOU! YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE TIME TO FIGURE IT OUT!
